Natalie Hind BSc (Hons) MVPH BVMS MRCVS
Originally from Perthshire, after spending over ten years working in the sport horse and racing industry in this country and in the US and Canada, Natalie returned to study in Scotland. She graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 2015 having been awarded placements at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Rossdales Equine Hospital in Newmarket and the famous 6666 Quarter Horse Ranch in Texas, and with an additional Masters degree in Veterinary Public Health.
Natalie has worked in busy and varied equine practices in Aberdeenshire and as part of a large on the road team in North Yorkshire. Following this, an opportunity to develop her interest in equine reproduction involved a first season in Australia working for Scone Equine Hospital on a large private stud. Since then, she has worked double hemisphere breeding seasons developing a keen interest in both Thoroughbred and Sport Horse (assisted) reproductive medicine and especially neonatal care. Additional areas of special interest include the management of youngstock on stud, gastric disease and equine dentistry.
Natalie is an Equine Exports Official Veterinarian, current member of the British Equine Veterinary Association, Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Farriers.
Further to everyday work Natalie has spent time volunteering with equine Charities in The Gambia and in Morocco and she hopes to complete several charity fundraising endurance events on her bike next year. If not on a bicycle, other time is spent running, riding a horse occasionally or walking her whippet.
